Timing, Layout, and Visual Development Pipeline
Grounded in secondary research on 1990s European and manga animation, the production embraced an “animation-as-emotion” approach. Each frame was meticulously timed in Adobe Animate and After Effects, combining digital and hand‑drawn techniques to ensure the visual narrative amplified the song’s message rather than competing with it.
I developed this animatic to establish narrative clarity early in the pipeline and to synchronize story beats with the music’s rhythmic structure. Because sustained storytelling is inherently difficult within the rapid pacing of a music‑video format, the animatic served as a timing blueprint, mapping emotional cues, shot transitions, and character actions directly to the audio waveform to ensure the final animation maintained coherence and intent.
