1. The Brief
The Challenge: In a streaming market where attention spans average less than 3 seconds, emerging Hip-Hop/Experimental artist KROMA needed a visual identity that could cut through the noise. The brief was to move away from gritty “street” tropes and establish a “Future-Luxury” aesthetic that justifies premium pricing for merchandise and concert tickets.
The Goal: Create a cohesive visual system that translates seamlessly from a 5-inch smartphone screen (Spotify/Instagram) to 50-foot urban billboards, while maintaining a high-end, gallery-worthy feel.
2. The Concept: “The Golden Neural Network”
To represent the album’s themes of transhumanism and connectivity, I developed a visual language based on “Organic Circuitry.”
- The Metaphor: Gold is not used here as ornamentation, but as the anatomy itself. It represents the artist’s “flow” rewriting the human form.
- The Strategy: A strict bi-chromatic palette (Deep Void Black & Metallic Gold). This high-contrast approach ensures instant brand recognition and legibility across all mediums, evoking the codes of luxury fashion brands rather than standard music industry graphics.
3. Execution & Deliverables
Leveraging a customized generative AI workflow combined with traditional 2D compositing, I delivered a “3D-look” asset library in a fraction of the time required for traditional rendering.
A. Hero Key Visual (Album Art) A striking portrait designed to stop the scroll. The composition focuses on the “gaze,” creating a direct connection with the audience. Optimized for digital thumbnails.

B. Physical Experience (Packaging) Digital is fleeting; physical is forever. I designed a collector’s edition Jewel Case and Vinyl sleeve where the complex gold textures are utilized for spot-varnish printing, adding tactile value to the product.

C. OOH Campaign (Out Of Home) Scalable assets for urban display. The visual clarity of the gold-on-black contrast allows the artwork to remain impactful on bus shelters and billboards without visual clutter.
D. Merchandising (Apparel) A “Streetwear” line designed for longevity. By isolating the abstract wire elements from the main character, the design functions as a fashion statement (hoodies/tees) rather than simple promotional merch, increasing wearability and brand loyalty.
E. Motion Identity (Spotify Canvas) As a 2D animator, I brought the static assets to life. A looping “breathing” animation of the gold circuitry was created for Spotify Canvas and Social Stories, increasing listener retention and shareability.
4. The Result
A turnkey visual identity that positions the artist as a high-value brand.
- Efficiency: High-fidelity “3D” assets generated and composited rapidly using AI-augmented workflows.
- Scalability: A modular design system ready for web, print, and video.
- Impact: A distinctive aesthetic that bridges the gap between underground music and high-fashion visual codes.
